We are going to try and get back to town on Friday or Saturday for a quick assessment and maybe to pick up some clothes and stuff. The mayor is sounding pretty optimistic on the news tonight about announcing a re-entry plan for the French Quarter, CBD and uptown tomorrow, so I think all we really need is to have electricity at this point. Then we will have a lot of cleaning up to do, but might be able to move back in once things are cleaned up and disinfected. I'm sure we might find a bit more damage, but so far it's looking pretty good.

House Pics - Look Good

Whew. I'm glad you guys made out ok. It could have been ALOT worse.
Indeed! I feel pretty lucky.
Glad your house survived so well! I love the windows on your house (that I can see from the first pic) - I tend to judge a house by its windows. :)
Yes, I really like those casement style windows with the little vent windows above them. I've been meaning to re-caulk and paint them, and I feel like I kind of owe it to the house now for having survived the hurricane.
Nothing catastrophic! You should see my shop! Virtualy every bike was submerged. My entire showcases were under-including the one that was full of high end ti rail saddles. There's a tree on top of my storage building that has the office in it. The other storage building no longer has a roof. At the house I have roof damage as well as extensive damage to the downstairs half of the house. I have 9 insurance claims filed, and they're being handled by 9 adjusters. Every time I make an appointment with one I have to drive from Houston to meet him. I did better than Marc though. His house was almost completely submerged. He still can't get to it without a boat.
